The history of Yoga Therapy
Yoga Therapy has been practiced in India for thousands of years and has been used to target several injuries and illnesses. The therapy does not just work on removing the physical or mental problem, but also on finding out the cause of the problem to prevent it from transpiring again in the future. There have been medical research showing that yoga therapy is beneficial as a combined medical treatment, however, it is important to note that this should be used in conjunction with any medical or physiological treatment and not as a substitute.
How does Yoga Therapy work?
There is usually a one-to-one consultation with a therapist, who will help contruct an effective yoga programme that is tailor-made to suit your needs. You will then have the opportunity to engage in either a one-to-one or small-group yoga therapy classes with an instructor. A programme may also be created for you to practice in the comfort of home so that you can practice what you have learned. The practices used during a therapy will include breathing and posture techniques, indian head massage, relaxation and internal energy healing skills, focus on healthier diets and improving your lifestyle. You do not need to have previous experience in yoga to participate in yoga therapy.
