This type of yoga derives from Astanga Yoga which helps you to achieve peace of mind and conscious living. As with all types of Yoga, Lyenga Yoga also requires much concentration and dedication, and helps you to attain more flexibility and strength.

What does it involve?
Lyenger yoga includes the use of blocks and ropes, whilst practicing different postures or poses. Other aids are used such as blankets, belts and bolsters, helping you to reduce strain, and sustain the pose for a longer period of time. Whilst putting emphasis on the precision of the alignments, Lyenga Yoga helps with relaxation, when poses are carried out correctly. In yoga, paying attention to detail, makes the poses more effective and safe. More over, also teaching the mind to focus and penetrate deeper into the body.

What are the classes like?
Classes are taught by highly qualified teachers that have been through between 2-5 years of thorough training.  Practitioners are encouraged to find their own way by copying the poses of the teacher.  Lyenger classes also involve a lot of precise verbal instruction and teacher does get involved in correcting your postures.
